JOB SUMMARY
This is an executive instructional position within the Learning and Teaching Department reporting to the Deputy Superintendent of PreK-12 Instruction. This position serves as instructional leader, coach, and supporter, providing a direct connection to all district departments and programs. This position advocates for and informs building leaders as they lead their school community in providing a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for staff ensuring continuous improvement for each scholar.
These efforts will align with the district's Strategic Plan and Vision for Excellence. The Chief Instructional Leader provides equitable instructional leadership on behalf of the district for the assigned area, in service of our scholars and community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

* Provides day-to-day supervision of quadrant building instructional leaders to include coaching, mentoring, and evaluation of instructional leaders as aligned with the district's Strategic Plan and Vision for Excellence.
* Provides oversight to ensure that each assigned school, program, and department is applying the district's instructional model(s) and programs as aligned to our Priority Scholar Outcomes.
* Provides oversight to ensure that eachinstructional leader and school/program develop and implements a comprehensive building level professional development plan focused on improving instruction, and scholar learning, based on data and research.
* Provides oversight to ensure that each instructionalleader and program/school implements the district's MDE's Framework, assesses scholars consistent with current standards, and develops appropriate schedules to meet unique needs of all of
* Oversees the district's building-based budget process. Ensures compliance with local(including our Standard Operating Procedures), state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, acts, and codes.
* Provides specific, timely, and descriptive feedback, supporting school leader growth.
* Monitors, on compliance indicators.
* Monitors scholars, teacher, and schoolprogress regularly.
* Submits recommendations to the Deputy Superintendent for identifying staffing needs of building leaders. Assists in recruitment, selection, and recommendation of hiring of personnel.
* Reviews and monitors the building scholar's data system for individual records of all scholars both in general education and those scholars receiving MTSS, SE, EL and 504 services.
* Oversees and manages the implementation of school policies, standard operating procedures,and procedures to include special education needs.
* Stays abreast of all legal mandates governing both general and special education.
