* The Art History program at Ferris State University's Kendall College of Art and Design (KCAD) in Grand Rapids, MI seeks qualified candidates to teach Art History courses.
* This is a pooled position. One or more applicants may be hired as needed to teach classes on a semester-by-semester basis.
* Courses are to be taught in person at KCAD in Grand Rapids. The candidate(s) selected for the position must reside in Michigan after acceptance of employment.
* The Art History Program serves students in all the art and design programs as well as Art History majors.
* We seek an outstanding educator who is an engaging speaker and can motivate and inspire students.
* Teaching assignments within the BA program will include the first-year Art History survey (Global Art I and II), with the possibility of other classes offered in the Art History program. Position Type:Faculty - Temporary & Continuing Required Education:
* Master's degree in Art History. Required Work Experience:
* Experience teaching a fully global Art History survey (covering multiple geographical regions beyond the west) in face-to-face classes as the instructor of record. Required Licenses and Certifications: Physical Demands:

* Earned PhD in Art History.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
* Create a positive and engaging learning environment.
* Evaluate student performance.
* Prepare and distribute syllabi according to college standards.
* Demonstrate an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion, especially in working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
* Support, promote, and develop University student enrollment and retention initiatives.
* Utilize the Ferris Learning Management System - Canvas.
* Teach an appropriate course load as assigned.
* Assess and evaluate student learning and provide formative feedback throughout the course.
* Provide reasonable availability to students for consultation and assistance with respect to assigned course(s).
* Faculty members also have professional responsibilities, which may include but are not limited to keeping regular posted office hours (which are scheduled at times convenient for students) and participation in traditional functions which have academic significance (i.e. reporting initial student participation data and submitting final grades on time). Faculty may be required to teach off-campus or in an on-line environment.
* Maintain effective communication with students and colleagues.
* Work collaboratively with faculty, students and staff throughout the college.
