Position Title Structured Learning Assistant (SLA) Facilitator

Status Part‑time, semester by semester appointment, $13.65 hourly.
Position Summary Information
Position Accountabilities and Essential Functions
The successful candidate must demonstrate experience, skills, and commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion in student, faculty and staff.
- Provide academic assistance to developmental students in content area (math or English) by attending class meetings of the selected course and facilitating student learning in weekly workshops.
- Model successful student behaviors and provide experiences that assist learning.
- Help students with study skills, preparations for tests, time management, methods of inquiry, and strategies for learning course content and vocabulary.
- Take attendance and accurately collect, maintain, and deliver data such as surveys and contact sheets in a timely manner.
- Meet regularly with the instructor for planning and feedback.
- Meet with TLC Manager as needed.
* Fall, Winter and Spring semester hours vary.
Required Qualifications- Minimum Technology Skills
- Associate Degree in a related field with at least one year of tutoring or teaching experience.
- Proficiency in course content (math or writing).
- Working knowledge of skills being taught in the class.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field.
- One or more years of related work experience tutoring or teaching Developmental Math and/or English.
