Physician - Academic General Pediatrician - Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, Grand Rapids, MI

Overview

The Academic General Pediatric Practice (AGP) at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH) is adding an additional BC/BE Pediatrician with a passion for an academic setting. The new partner will enjoy working in the residency practice teaching the variety of 80+ residents (includes categorical pediatrics, medicine-pediatrics and child neurology residents) alongside 7 academic pediatric partners. Candidates for the position must enjoy teaching and mentoring of residents within the ambulatory setting and seeing their own panel of patients in a diverse setting with an eye for health equity.

The new physician will spend approximately 50% of their clinical time precepting residents and 50% of their clinical time providing care to their own panel of pediatric patients. There is an opportunity to join a smaller cohort of AGP physicians who will be partnering with HDVCH pediatric psychology in their multidisciplinary autism assessment center. The new partner will obtain MSU faculty appointment and can anticipate access to support for academic, quality and scholarly projects.

The Corewell Health HDVCH Academic General Pediatric Clinic (AGP) is a full service pediatric primary care medical home, providing well child and acute care as well as management of chronic and complex medical conditions for patients from birth to 21 years. The physicians are committed to providing evidence-based, compassionate, comprehensive pediatric medical care and educational services. The practice is supported by two social workers, RN phone triage, a nurse educator and an excellent team of medical assistants.

In January, 2025, the practice will be moving to a brand new academic primary care center just across the street at 225 Michigan where we will be co-located with the family medicine and internal medicine residency practices. Our practice serves patients of diverse backgrounds from areas across metropolitan Grand Rapids. Our practice is fully integrated into the functions of the children’s hospital and we enjoy collegial relationships with the 40+ specialties located on campus.

• Education - Medical Degree (MD or DO)
• Licenses – Current M.D. or D.O. license for the state of Michigan
• Licenses – Current State of Michigan and Federal Narcotics Licenses
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• ACLS required if stress tests performed or as required by specialty
