Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our premier surgical team in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This is a unique physician-led opportunity that blends the clinical autonomy of private practice with the robust resources of a national healthcare system. You will play a pivotal role in delivering specialized hand and upper extremity care while actively mentoring the next generation of surgeons through our integrated residency program.

Hand Surgeon | Academic-Affiliated Employed Practice | Grand Rapids, MI

As a Hand Surgeon within our group, you will manage a high-volume clinical and surgical practice. This role is designed for a surgeon who thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment and values both clinical excellence and academic contribution.

  • Practice Model: Employed (Physician-led)
  • Clinical Split: Balanced time between outpatient clinic and the Operating Room.
  • Call

    Schedule:

    1:8 rotation covering general orthopedic and hand call.
  • Academic Integration: Direct involvement with orthopedic surgery residents. You will provide bedside and OR-based instruction, staff a residency clinic (1:8 basis), and participate in Grand Rounds and quarterly M&M conferences.
  • Advanced Infrastructure: Fully integrated Epic EMR and MyChart to streamline patient coordination and documentation.
Requirements
  • Education: Medical Degree (MD/DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Training: Completion of an Orthopedic Surgery Residency and a Fellowship in Hand Surgery.
  • Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in Orthopedic Surgery.
  • Licensure: Eligible for an unrestricted Michigan Medical License and DEA registration.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, a commitment to team-based care, and a passion for clinical teaching.
