Contractor – BOM and MDM Cleanup Specialist

6‑12 month contract, Grand Rapids, Michigan

My Client is seeking a detail‑oriented contractor to support the Bill of Materials (BOM) Cleanup Project, ensuring accuracy and compliance in master data management. This role will work closely with my client’s operations and technology teams to streamline BOM structures, improve data integrity, and align processes with governance standards.

• Review, validate, and update BOM data across multiple product lines.
• Run historical reports and develop data based on history for usage, yield, etc.
• Provide comparisons between proposed and existing BOM data.
• Identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Finance) to gather and confirm data requirements.
• Apply preventive and detective controls consistent with COSO framework principles for data governance.
• Document changes and maintain audit‑ready records for compliance.
• Support workflow improvements for BOM creation and maintenance.
• Ensure adherence to my client’s safety and regulatory standards during all activities.

• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics AX preferred) and master data management.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex datasets.
• Familiarity with BOM structures, manufacturing processes, and change control.
• Experience managing and manipulating BOM data within Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
