Summary of the Role

The Workforce Development Administrative Assistant plays a vital role in supporting Workforce Development. This role works under the direction of the Workforce Development Coordinator, and in collaboration with the Workforce Development Job Coach, the WFD team at Next Step of West Michigan, and the Advancement and Faith teams at MTM.

Job Plan

  • Organize and schedule Momentum classes for current and future cohorts
  • Welcome and assist guest presenters and participants for Momentum class
  • Work with WFD team on alternative transportation options for Momentum participants to class and employment (currently MTM van, other options are public transport, Wheels to Work, etc. as primary resources)
  • Work with the WFD, Advancement, and Faith teams to market and build out ministry and revenue generation (space rental) opportunities at the Hope Center.
  • Occasionally assist WFD Coordinator and Job Coach for employment 1-on-1s, case notes, guest handoffs to tracks programs, and meeting new employment partners.
  • Attend meetings and work towards WFD/employment goals and grant objectives (Meijer Foundation, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks, classes, and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills
    , with a welcoming and service-oriented demeanor
  • Ability to work effectively under the direction of the Workforce Development Coordinator and collaboratively with Job Coaches, Advancement, Faith, and external partners
  • Demonstrated attention to detail for documentation, case notes, scheduling, and follow-up
  • Comfort interacting with diverse populations
    , including individuals overcoming barriers to employment
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace (email, calendars, documents, spreadsheets) and willingness to learn internal systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    , professionalism, and appropriate boundaries when supporting participants
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to support classes, meetings, and occasional off-site activities

Preferred Qualifications

Working Conditions
