Cost Accounting Supervisor

We’re partnering with a manufacturing company in the Grand Rapids area to hire a Cost Accounting Supervisor to support and strengthen plant-level finance operations. This is a great opportunity for a senior cost accountant or cost accounting lead who’s ready to take the next step into leadership while staying close to the work.

This role is ideal for someone who loves cost accounting, inventory, and working closely with operations
, with a clear path to expanded responsibility over time.

• Own and support standard cost accounting
  , including BOMs, material, labor, and overhead rates
• Analyze and explain manufacturing variances (usage, rate, absorption)
• Partner with operations, purchasing, and inventory teams to support plant performance
• Support month-end close related to inventory, COGS, and cost reporting
• Maintain and improve inventory valuation and controls
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and standard cost roll-ups
• Supervise and mentor cost accounting staff or support resources
• Drive process improvements in costing and reporting

• A Senior Cost Accountant or Cost Accounting Lead ready to step into a supervisor role
• Someone who enjoys being hands-on and close to manufacturing operations
• A professional looking for career growth toward Accounting Manager or Controller

• Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting (required)
• Strong understanding of standard costing, BOMs, inventory, and variances
• Experience supporting month-end close in a manufacturing environment
• ERP system experience (D365, JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
• Comfortable working 100% onsite in Grand Rapids
• Prior leadership or mentorship experience preferred
