Position summary

Roy Jorgensen Associates, Inc. is currently seeking full-time Highway Concrete Technicians to travel and perform concrete repair and maintenance operations in the Texas area during the night shift. This position requires performing a variety of tasks related to driving across the state of Texas, highway concrete repair/maintenance, guardrail, and drainage, and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Jorgensen Company policies and procedures.

Highway Technicians will be based out of the Grand Prairie, TX yard and require the ability to travel at least 75% of the time within the US, mostly within TX but quarterly to CO.

Responsibilities
  • Perform concrete repair and maintenance operations on highway infrastructure as part of night shift work.
  • Travel across the state of Texas and within the US (approx. 75%), primarily TX with occasional trips to CO.
  • Work on highway concrete repair/maintenance, guardrail, and drainage projects in accordance with federal, state, local regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
  • Required Experience: Concrete forming/repair experience (minimum 3 years); roadway maintenance experience; exposure to shovels, weed trimming machinery, brooms, and various small hand tools; MOT (Traffic control certifications/courses);
    Wheel Loader, Skidsteer, Fork Lift, Asphalt Roller, etc operator.
  • Preferred Experience: Roadway maintenance experience; CDL license a plus; air compressor operations familiarity; guardrail and sign installation experience; bilingual English/Spanish (read/write) preferred but not required.
  • Clean driving record is essential; must pass criminal background check.
  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; maintain company standards for background checks; knowledge of local driving rules and regulations; ability to perform simple arithmetic; maintain safety equipment; knowledge and ability to adapt to latest technology; ability to use smartphone and applications; ability to adjust to changing work schedule; ability to work safely under varying environmental and weather conditions; capable of lifting up to 50 pounds;

    ability to operate hand/power tools.
Schedule

Full time; must be able to travel 75% of the time with 1 week notice. Must be able to work rotating day or night shift, including weekends. Day shift is typically 7:00 am – 3:30 pm. Night shift is typically 6:00 pm – 2:30 am or once concrete is cured. Must be able to work weather events such as snow, ice, and floods.
