A Day in the Life

As a Service Assistant some of your duties include going to customer sites to assist experienced service technicians in installing and repairing modular buildings and training customers on how to properly maintain the buildings. You will also be going alone to customer sites to perform maintenance and service requests as needed. You will perform trial runs of any machinery (including HVAC systems) to ensure performance rates and quality meet established specifications.

What You’ll Do
  • Performs troubleshooting, maintenance service, repairs and construction in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, flooring, ceiling and electrical in the field; generally in the company of a service technician but also will go out to customer sites alone to perform maintenance and service requests
  • Alongside a qualified service technician, performs maintenance and service repairs on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning systems
  • Responsible for the safety, quality and productivity of themselves at all customer locations
  • Responsible for positive interface with the customer and ensuring the company’s reputation is improved with every customer contact
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Must Haves
  • Ability to safely perform all tasks and understand Company’s safety policies and procedures
  • Prior knowledge in construction or related work
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools and follow operating guidelines
  • Must be able to travel locally daily in Company Truck and occasional overnight stays
  • May be required to travel extended distances to customer sites in Company Truck
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to communicate with Customer’s regarding work status and service concerns
  • Deliver a high quality output consistent with the Company’s construction standards
  • Able to follow spoken and written instructions
  • Able to work outside in variable weather conditions
  • Ability to work overtime daily (i.e. 10 hour days) as needed
Nice to Haves
  • Prior experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other specialties
  • Bilingual with English and Spanish
Special Considerations
  • Position requires manual dexterity and the ability to maintain physical activity for most of the day
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and hold or lift a variety of objects
  • Able to carry, bend, stoop, turn, kneel, crawl, climb a ladder and other manual labor activities
