Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning, & Plumbing!
Under minimal supervision, performs diagnostic and service work on commercial HVAC equipment and accessories. Communicates with customer to answer questions, resolves problems, and ensures complete customer satisfaction. Promotes products and services to customer. Works under the direction of the Field Supervisor or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial HVAC equipment (e.g., chillers) and ancillary components such as pumps, cooling towers, etc.; split systems, package units, and boilers
- Provide leadership to train and mentor other technicians
- Have working knowledge of air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment
- Perform service on VFDs and various motor starters, pumps and motors
- Troubleshoot hydronic systems, including boiler systems, low pressure hydronic and steam
- General working knowledge of York, Trane, and Carrier microprocessors
- Maintain company property, vehicles and tools; ensure proper use and inventory
- Represent the company professionally, honestly, and ethically
- Follow standard procedures; ensure vehicle is stocked; return defective warranty parts; order/replenish vehicle stock as needed
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned

- Report unsafe acts, conditions and hazards
- Correct substandard acts or conditions within area of control
- Use and maintain PPE as prescribed
- Do not remove safety guards or clothing
- Comply with general company rules and procedures
- Operate devices or equipment as prescribed
- Participate in safety initiatives, teams, or committees
- Report injuries or incidents promptly
- Contribute to developing safety initiatives to eliminate exposures
- Work safely and refrain from pranks or rough behavior
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED plus 10+ years’ HVAC experience with technical training certification
- Valid licensing or certification as required by local laws
- EPA and safety certifications required
- Proficient in servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment
- Strong mechanical aptitude; able to operate necessary tools and equipment
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant and duct systems
- Ability to start up and balance airflow; align belts and pulleys
- Ability to install basic duct fittings
- Experience with electronic air cleaners, refrigeration, hot water systems, steam boiler systems, humidifiers
- Effective communication with customers; strong time-management and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Flexible hours and on-call availability
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, crawl, and access spaces; lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in varied environments and climatic conditions
