RN Special Procedures PRN – Medical City Dallas

Location:

Medical City Dallas, Dallas, TX.

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the diagnostic imaging patient.
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process.
• Provide emotional support to patients and significant others to help them make informed health care choices.
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver.
• Participate in diagnostic imaging specific initiatives and process improvement.
• Promote a supportive diagnostic imaging environment.
• Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and/or nurse externs.
• Maintain high quality care for infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned.
• Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• BSN required within 24 months of hire for hires after 6/1/12.
• Experience with radiation safety required.
• Oncology, ICU, or ER experience preferred.
• Experience with infant to adult radiology patients preferred.
• Current RN license in the State of Texas or a compact license.
• Current AHA or ARC BLS provider.
• Current ACLS.
• PALS required within 6 months of hire or transfer.
