Overview

Hose Technician – Level 1

Hose Technician – Level 1 is responsible for all aspects of hose assembly, quality control, packaging, tagging and kitting.

Responsibilities
  • Fabricate Hose assemblies as per customer specifications.
  • Fabricate and identify Hydraulic hose assemblies.
  • Calibrate and reset hydraulic hose crimpers.
  • Measure and calibrate hose ends on permanent style fittings.
  • Use digital calipers to determine crimp quality and integrity.
  • Fabricate hose assemblies using the reusable style hose fittings.
  • Accurately measure and set phase angle orientation on hydraulic hose assemblies, permanent and reusable styles.
  • Provide customer sales counter service as needed for parts and service operations.
  • Maintain good technical skills and upkeep in training within the fluid connector business.
  • Operate hose cut-off machine.
  • Work safely at all times. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.
  • Other duties assigned.
Education and Training
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Technical school certificate or associate’s degree a plus.
  • Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.
Experience
  • Up to two (2) years of experience in hydraulic hose assembly.
  • Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Good communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
  • Good physical skills on equipment and an aptitude for manual work.
  • Solid equipment and parts knowledge.
  • Warehousing training in a distribution, manufacturing, or dealership environment.
  • Knowledgeable on shipping methods and procedures.
Physical and Safety Requirements
  • Able to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Able to stand, walk, sit, and bend, 8 – 10 hours per day.
  • Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
  • Able to pass a drug test.
  • Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
  • Exposure to a production environment.
