Production Grinder DSC - 2nd Shift

Work Performed:

• Sets up and operates internal, centerless, surface, external, thread and universal grinders for production, experimental, and tool work.
• Must be able and is required to perform any type of difficult grinding work on any and all types grinders.
• Grinds steps, tapers, recesses, shoulders, angles, contours and threads.
• Must be able to set up truing devices on thread grinding for various types and forms of threads.
• Selects proper speeds, feeds, and wheels. Holds work to required tolerances.
• Setups are exacting, usually requiring firm and accurately set fixtures, rests or blocks.

Tools & Equipment Used:

All types of grinders, machinists’ hand tools, precision measuring instruments.

Experience & Other Requirements:

Three years of production grinding experience including setup.
