3rd Shift Maintenance Technician – O'Neal Steel – Grand Prairie, TX
We are hiring a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician to work at our Grand Prairie, TX facility.
DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician performs preventive maintenance and repairs on production equipment and systems (e.g., mechanical, electrical). The role evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to increase efficiency, capability and yield. Responsibilities include performing equipment failure analyses, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems, and preparing technical reports to document preventive maintenance issues.
Job Requirements- General knowledge of basic troubleshooting skills with ability to assist with repairs and diagnostics of advanced processing equipment such as CNC, material handling system, press brakes, lifting devices, and sawing equipment.
- Maintenance experience with mechanical or electrical systems, typically demonstrated by:
- Work experience in the referenced systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment; completion of an electrical or mechanical repair training program; or an acceptable combination of training and experience.
- Ability to perform maintenance and repair tasks on material handling and processing equipment, including calculating, laying out and drawing; balancing and aligning equipment.
- Perform rigging activities, safety‑related functions and other miscellaneous maintenance functions.
- Utilize or fabricate parts from cold‑rolled steel, stainless steel, steel plate, structural steel members, other metals, plastics, fittings, valves and mechanical parts.
- Maintain electrical equipment to meet regulatory codes.
- Program Variable Frequency Drives.
- Troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers.
- Test electrical systems and confirm continuity in wiring, equipment and fixtures using ohmmeters, voltmeters and oscilloscopes.
