Field Safety Specialist

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a strong Field Safety Specialist to support and elevate our daily fleet, compliance, and safety efforts.
Position OverviewThe Field Safety Specialist position ensures workers, the public, and equipment are safe by identifying hazards, enforcing rules, conducting training (PPE, work zones), auditing sites, and creating emergency plans. This role requires knowledge of regulations, risk assessment, and strong collaboration with project teams to integrate safety into their daily operations. The specialist audits operations, tracks incidents, and manages safety records while promoting a strong safety culture to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
They serve as the primary liaison for safety, advising leadership and collaborating with departments on hazard mitigation and policy enforcement.
This position requires approximately 75% field and job‑site presence throughout the DFW region. Some visits may require weekday overnight stays and availability for night work. When not traveling, the role is on‑site at our Grand Prairie headquarters.
Responsibilities Safety Leadership & Compliance- Champion safety initiatives, promote a safety‑first mindset, and encourage employee participation.
- Manage daily EHS and compliance activities through engagement with facility management, team leaders, and field employees to build a strong safety culture.
- Coordinate and implement environmental, health, and safety plans ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, MUTCD, and industry standards.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal workplace safety and environmental regulations.
- Conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective action, and implement follow‑up assessments.
- Manage all required reporting to Federal and State entities as well as Frontline, including yearly and monthly safety reporting.
- Manage and maintain all badging/vehicle requirements for DFW and any other jobs requiring them.
- Assist with monthly safety meetings across all companies.
- Ensure full adherence to the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol testing regime.
- Manage and maintain all employee DOT Driver Qualification Files, MVRs, and test results.
- Support managers in CDL driver training, observations, and compliance reporting.
- Ensure the organization adheres to all local, state, and federal regulations.
- Lead all aspects of company claims management including workers’ compensation, auto, and general liability claims. Manage all legal items resulting from claims.
- Conduct incident investigations involving hazardous materials, equipment, or injuries.
- Partner with corporate on monthly safety and claims reporting.
- Lead the development of corrective action plans and safety improvement initiatives.
- Lead, mentor, and oversee the team of field, fleet compliance, and safety specialists.
- Conduct regular safety meetings for office, facility, and field staff.
- Perform routine field and site visits across Texas.
- Perform field and site visits across Louisiana and North Carolina as needed.
- Maintain real‑time EHS data, reporting, and documentation.
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience, including field safety.
- Strong claims management experience required.
- Experience in road construction, fleet management, and DOT compliance strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, FMCSA, MUTCD, and DOT regulations.
- Excellent communication (written/verbal) and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s Degree in OHS, EHS, or Safety Management a plus.
- Valid Driver’s License required. CDL a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Work Location:
