Grand Prairie Police Department is seeking community‑oriented officers committed to safeguarding the community of Grand Prairie, Texas.

Police Recruiting Department: pdrecruiting

• U.S. citizenship
• Personal History Statement completed on exam day
• Certification from Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE)
• Education:
  
  at least 48 hours of college credit with 2.0 GPA from an accredited institution, OR
• At least 2 years of experience as a regular full‑time peace officer, OR
• At least 2 years of active‑duty military service with honorable discharge, OR
• License issued by TCOLE for at least 2 years, OR
• Current full‑time employee of Grand Prairie Police Department for 2 years prior to exam

The program awards seniority pay based on prior law‑enforcement experience.

Lateral eligibility requires:

• At least 2 consecutive years of full‑time certified peace‑officer service (in‑state or out‑of‑state) approved by the Chief of Police
• Authority to enforce laws, investigate crimes, make arrests, respond to calls, carry a firearm, and use discretion
• No break in service longer than 3 years between leaving former agency and applying to Grand Prairie Police Department

• DD‑214:
  Must be submitted no later than January 10, 2026 8:00 a.m. to apardue
• Personal History Statement:
  Due on exam day
