We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in modeling and simulation of complex technical solutions. This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control.

Responsibilities- Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture
- Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
- Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities
- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers
- Master's degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
- Proficiency in C++
- Proficiency in either Matlab or Python
- Must be a U.S. Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance
- Candidate must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following guidance, navigation and control (GNC) or modeling and simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience:
- Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
- Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations
- Demonstrate strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
- Candidate already possesses final DoD Secret clearance
- Proficiency with Python and Linux
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
- Strong written/verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite full-time:
The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4 x 10 hour day, 3 days off per week.
