Overview
White Castle Roofing and Contracting, Inc. needs 18 temporary Roofing Helpers from April 1, 2026 -- November 30, 2026 for work at various worksites in Mesa, Delta, Garfield, and Montrose counties in Colorado, and San Juan county in Utah. Work is full-time;
Monday -- Friday; 8:00 a.m.
-- 5:00 p.m.; 40 hrs/week. Piece rate wages may apply based on volume of job-related tasks completed per workweek, but workers are guaranteed a wage rate of at least $25.82/hr (higher rates possible based on experience or skill) with applicable benefits. Workers are eligible for overtime pay of at least $38.73/hr, equal to one and one-half times the applicable hourly rate for all hours over 40 in a given workweek.
A six-hour overtime estimate per week is based on historical averages and may change based on weather conditions and business needs. Housing assistance may be available in employer-owned/rented apartment-style shared housing at about $140.00 per person per pay period, with a refundable $400.00 damage deposit per person. Deductions from paychecks will be made as provided by law, including housing costs if chosen.
An optional advance of up to $300.00 for clothing and food may be provided; repayment will be deducted from future paychecks, if applicable.
- Physically demanding duties related to new and re-roofing projects.
- Assist more experienced roofers and crew leaders by using, supplying, or holding materials and tools.
- Unload materials and tools from work trucks.
- Remove old roofing materials.
- Sweep and clean roofs to prepare them for installation of new roofing materials.
- Set ladders, scaffolds, and hoists, and use them to take supplies to roofs.
- Cover roofs with layers of roofing felt or similar materials to prepare for installation.
- Assist with the re-roofing process as directed by foreman.
- Maintain tools and clean work areas and equipment.
- Assist with other projects ancillary to roofing projects.
- All duties performed with proper fall protection and scaffolding; follow OSHA safety plans and compliance efforts.
- Company will provide all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job at no charge.
- Transportation costs from recruitment to the place of employment will be reimbursed upon arrival (subject to repayment if employment completes less than half of the period).
- Company will reimburse H-2B workers in the first workweek for visa-related fees actually incurred.
- Upon completion or dismissal, Company will pay for reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence home or to the original departure place, except where the worker may not return due to subsequent employment or voluntary abandonment.
- Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68.00/day with receipts.
- Normal travel within the area of intended employment and daily transportation to worksites may be provided depending on location.
- Company guarantees work for at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment.
- Must be at least 18 years old and able to consistently lift 70 lbs, as verbally confirmed by applicant.
