An overview of this position entails... This position is responsible for preparing nutritional and attractive meals for residents at The Commons.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior that align with the values of Hilltop's Assisted Living Communities (ALCs), including Service 1, how we treat each other, and Service 2, how we treat our residents. Service 1 and Service 2 are demonstrated by setting boundaries, being predictable, consistent, kind, and transparent.
  • Complete basic meal specials, daily prep cooking duties, basic soups, sauces, and desserts from scratch and to the Food Service Manager's specifications.
  • Prepare and plate meal orders utilizing proper food handling and presentation.
  • Follow all Mesa County and Colorado Department of Health regulations for proper food handling, including proper hand washing, temperature logs, and sanitizing of food service equipment.
  • Ensure food and supplies are at correct temperature and condition when received. Rotate and stock supplies according to health codes and Food Service Manager's specifications.
  • Assist with catering duties as needed.
  • Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and safely washing dishes, glasses, utensils, pots, pans, bus tubs, etc. Deep clean, sweep, and mop as assigned.
  • Inspect and maintain proper chemicals for the dishwasher.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); three to six months related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 18 years of age required.
