Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This role encompasses all aspects of the nursing process—from assessment and planning through implementation and evaluation of care—across both facility and clinic settings. The RN demonstrates clinical excellence, professionalism, and a commitment to patient safety from admission through discharge.
Essential Functions- Assess patients by observing and documenting physical and behavioral health indicators and collecting comprehensive health histories
- Perform physical examinations and assist with diagnostic testing
- Administer medications, manage wound care, and provide other prescribed treatments
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and ongoing care
- Analyze patient information and make appropriate clinical decisions within scope of practice
- Collaborate with physicians, supervisors, and interdisciplinary teams to determine optimal patient care plans
- Accurately document patient examinations, treatments, and test results in the appropriate electronic medical record (EMR) systems, including accessing records across multiple hospital EMRs as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations
- Ensure a safe, secure, and compliant work environment by adhering to established standards, policies, and legal requirements
- Support physician and healthcare provider operations by following professional standards, organizational policies, and applicable federal, state, local, and accreditation requirements (including Joint Commission standards, if applicable)
- Participate in continuing education, professional development opportunities, and nursing organizations to maintain current clinical knowledge
- Actively contribute to positive interdepartmental coordination to enhance the overall patient experience
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives to improve healthcare processes and patient outcomes
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a clinical practice setting
- Associate Degree in Nursing required;
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Successful completion of ACLS certification
This position requires the full range of body motion. The employee must regularly sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; communicate effectively in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to operate standard office and medical equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
Work EnvironmentWork is performed in a typical medical practice and/or office-based laboratory (OBL) setting.
