In addition to having strong clinical skills, Hospice Nurses are “teachers” – helping patients identify their own personal goals of care and helping caregivers have confidence in caring for their family member. They are generalists on all diseases and specialists in symptom management, requiring excellence in assessment and critical thinking. There is opportunity to grow through regular education offerings as well as support to achieve a certification in Hospice & Palliative Nursing (CHPN).

The Ferris Care Center (FCC) team provides short-term care in a home-like setting where friends and family can be present during the most difficult times. Nurses focus on intensive medical end-of-life care for patients who can no longer be at home but would rather not be hospitalized. Our approach to care includes comprehensive physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support.

The FCC offers this Variable/PRN role to help in coverage of open 12-hour shifts, either 7am-7pm or 7pm-7am, and on-call as available any day/night of the week. There is flexibility in arranging your schedule, which provides a work/life balance allowing time for personal needs.

Who Should Apply?

• RN’s with a minimum of one year of acute care experience in medical/surgical, ICU, ER, or other acute care health settings
• RN’s with strong communication skills and a desire to work in a team environment

Requirements, Pay and Benefits:

• Must have unrestricted RN license in the State of Colorado
• Hourly base wage: $35.50 - $36.50, plus 10% as a variable status employee
• Additional differential pay for nights ($6/hr) and weekends ($5/hr) on top of base wage
• Premium pay for BSN, bilingual fluency, CHPN, and WCC
• This is a limited benefit-eligible position with no guarantee of hours, with opportunities to be considered for part-time/full-time benefited roles as they become available.
