Responsibilities
- Is responsible for the daily supervision and management of specimen collection staff, both on- and off-site.
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations (CLIA, CAP, AABB, FDA).
- Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.
- Assures quality customer service to all customers.
- Supervises, trains, evaluates performance, and assists in the hiring of collections staff.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- Minimum ASCP Certification in Phlebotomy and/or MLT/MLS (ASCP)
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in phlebotomy required;
Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience preferred; OR Equivalent combination of education and experience. - Experience in the following areas: phlebotomy, specimen accessioning/processing, registration of lab orders and requisitions. Strong working knowledge of laboratory workflows as they relate to orders, requisitions, QC of specimen processing, handling customer calls from medical practices, ordering providers, troubleshooting, including send-outs.
- Familiarity with diagnosis codes, CPT.
Compensation
- $33.00 - $37.95 per hour, depending on education and experience.
- Discretionary bonuses, relocation expenses, merit increase, market adjustments, recognition bonuses, and other forms of discretionary compensation may be available.
