Department Information This position will be accepting applications from residents and non-residents of Colorado. This announcement is open to potential candidates who are legal residents of the United States. All legal residents of the United States are eligible to apply and compete. If appointed to a position, applicants from outside of Colorado will be required to relocate to Colorado prior to their start date, at their own expense.

Grand Junction Regional Center (GJRC) is one of three Regional Centers in Colorado that serve people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who have intensive needs. GJRC, which dates back to 1919, has both Intermediate Care Facilities/Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (ICF/IDD) homes and Home and Community Based Services Waiver (HCBS Waiver) homes throughout the community. The center serves a diverse population, from people who have high abilities but are a high risk to themselves or others to people who have significant medical challenges.
Programs are individualized to meet varying needs. Services provided range from residential services and health services to mental health intervention. GJRC provides day program, vocational and specialized habilitation, speech, occupational therapy, therapeutic recreation and nutritional services.
The Service and Support Coordinator leads and oversees services for individuals with developmental disabilities in residential settings, ensuring care is person-centered, compliant, and focused on meaningful life outcomes. This role coordinates teams, supervises staff, and ensures programs support each individual’s goals, safety, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and monitor individualized support plans for people with developmental disabilities
- Ensure services meet federal, state, and agency regulations and protect program funding
- Lead interdisciplinary team meetings with medical, therapy, and support staff
- Track progress toward individual goals and adjust plans based on data and observations
- Oversee daily service delivery to ensure active treatment occurs throughout the day
- Develop and monitor programs that build daily living and adaptive skills
- Supervise and support direct care staff, including scheduling and performance management
- Provide training and coaching to staff on therapeutic strategies and care techniques
- Respond to behavioral challenges using approved intervention strategies
- Serve as an on-call duty officer as assigned for after-hours support
- Make placement and service recommendations based on individual needs and safety
- Ensure proper documentation, audits, and quality assurance reviews are completed
- Advocate for individuals’ rights and personal outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement in residential and day programs
- Perform administrative and supervisory duties as assigned
This position is 100% In-Person: You are required to work at your assigned work location during your scheduled work times. Regular schedule:
Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. This position will comply with the Grand Junction Regional Center’s current working arrangements. Work arrangements are subject to change at any time.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position.
OR
- A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position equal to eight (8) years.
Substitutions: Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications- Preferred candidate will have at least one year of supervisory experience
- Experience working in Home and Community-Based Services Waiver licensed facilities or group homes
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Performance Management Plan (PMP) process
