We are seeking a skilled and motivated Water Treatment Process Engineer with 3+ years of experience in designing, optimizing, and managing water and wastewater treatment systems. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in municipal or industrial water treatment processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to handle all aspects of design support for a range of projects from concept through commissioning.
What you will do:- Design and develop water and wastewater treatment processes, including treatment trains, PFDs, and P&IDs.
- Perform process calculations for sizing equipment such as pumps, clarifiers, filters, membrane systems, chemical dosing systems, and sludge handling units.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Support proposal development, including cost estimation and technical input.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, electrical, civil, instrumentation).
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Interact with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in water or wastewater treatment process engineering.
- Strong knowledge of physical, chemical, and biological treatment processes (e.g., coagulation/flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, membrane systems, activated sludge, M , RO).
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and permitting requirements.
- Knowledge of SCADA systems and instrumentation controls.
- Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD / Inventor, Excel, process simulation software).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
$75,000 - $115,000 a year
Pay will depend on education, experience, skills, and location. The posted range reflects our current expectations but may change.
