Salary: $71,544.00 – $82,272.00 per year
DescriptionThe Region Finals Administrator oversees the closure process for all Region 3 Construction and ITS projects. The role serves as a staff authority and subject‑matter expert for final documentation, including pay documentation, change orders, force account work, and the use of PMWeb and Project Wise. Responsibilities include the following:
- Manage the Region Construction Finals Documentation Program and review process.
- Determine how the final checking/auditing process is performed and tracked.
- Advise and aid project engineers on all federal and state rules, regulations and special provisions governing project documentation.
- Schedule and conduct interim pay documentation audits of active construction projects and recommend corrections and changes.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies in project documentation regarding logic, engineering calculations, and completeness and recommend needed changes.
- Ensure that as‑constructed plans, standards and specifications have proper and accurate engineering principles, techniques, and computations applied.
- Evaluate project documentation regarding logic, engineering calculations and completeness, and investigate discrepancies through discussion with the originator.
- Oversee, train and/or assist CDOT and consultant personnel with construction project interim and final documentation.
- Conduct and/or facilitate training as identified for construction and materials.
- Determine, develop, provide and or recommend the necessary training for project personnel for documentation of pay items, materials, contract modification orders, and other project documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Primary work hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
- Average work week: 40 hours, with periodic opportunity for overtime.
- Approximately 20% spent in the field, 80% in the office.
- Occasional evening, night, and weekend work.
- Travel required throughout the region for meetings and site visits.
- May require nights or weekend work depending on construction schedules.
- Required to operate CDOT vehicles.
- Seven (7) years of relevant experience in construction inspection, documentation, management, or materials testing/documentation.
- OR a combination of education and experience totaling at least 7 years.
- Education from an accredited college or university with coursework in construction management or a related field.
- Successfully substantiate required experience in the work experience section of the application.
- Success and experience with the duties listed in the description.
- Years of state service experience related to the duties of this position.
- Highest work/personal ethics and integrity.
- Working knowledge of engineering processes, theories, laws, principles, and best practices.
- Experience with transportation engineering construction and/or design projects.
- Consultant/contract management experience.
- Familiarity with CDOT manuals (Construction, Design, Field Materials) and MUTCD.
- Strong ability to manage multiple assignments and projects, work under tight deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal, mentoring, facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to technical detail and accuracy, and a passion for safety.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software systems.
- A complete CDOT application submission online.
- A complete supplemental questionnaire.
- A cover letter describing your interest and how your experience aligns with the minimum and preferred qualifications.
- A detailed chronological résumé.
