ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE: Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in-stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and pricing processes for all areas of the store and supports pick, pack and ship fulfillment work.

Role Overview: The General Merchandise Expert can provide you with the opportunity to build a career. Key knowledge areas include guest service fundamentals, retail business fundamentals such as sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency. You will manage daily workloads to support business priorities and achieve sales goals.

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you complete your tasks.
• Engage with guests to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to achieve business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise, and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• Operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures if certified.
• Perform processes such as changing prices, merchandise set‑up, maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader.
• Learn how operational procedures impact inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about store resources, products, and services to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with safety policies, report hazards, and correct where possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier and digital fulfillment processes.
• All other duties as required based on business needs.

• Move merchandise efficiently and safely, including lifting up to 44 pounds without assistance.
• Remain mobile throughout a scheduled shift which may vary in length.
