Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown | Grand Island, NE | Night Shift
We are seeking an
experienced Stepdown / PCU Registered Nurse
to join a
busy 33-bed progressive care unit in Grand Island, Nebraska . This unit cares for
high-acuity medical patients
and requires nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are comfortable managing complex cases.
Position Details
Title:
Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown
Location:
Grand Island, NE 68803
Shift:
Nights |
12-hour shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Radius Rule:
50 miles (Driver’s license required at submission)
Unit Overview
Beds:
33
Ratios:
1:4–5
Patient Population:
Adult and geriatric patients with complex medical conditions
Common Diagnoses
Sepsis
STEMI
CHF and chest pain
Stroke
COPD
Renal failure
DKA
COVID and multisystem failure patients
Clinical Responsibilities
Titrate drips including
Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, and IV antibiotics
Monitor and interpret
telemetry rhythms
Provide care for patients requiring
BiPAP and Airvo respiratory support
Deliver high-quality patient care in a
fast-paced progressive care setting
Requirements
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must pass a
90% open-book exam during orientation
Artificial nails are not permitted
in patient care areas
Additional Details
Weekend Requirement:
Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement:
As needed
Floating:
May float to Med Surg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care
Scrubs:
Navy Blue
Orientation:
1 week classroom + 2 unit shifts
