Position: ICU RN (Float to PCU / Med-Surg) Job Duties Performs comprehensive assessment and reassessment based on patient condition and age-specific needs Develops, implements, and evaluates individualized plans of care Provides perioperative and critical care interventions following GIRMC standards Ensures patient safety (, aseptic technique, positioning, surgical counts, equipment use) Educates patients and families and evaluates response to interventions Coordinates care with interdisciplinary teams and facilitates transitions of care Documents care per facility policy Serves as a clinical resource and role model to team members Participates in ongoing education and quality improvement activities Equipment Ventilators Arterial lines Non-invasive ventilation High-Flow / Airvo Required Experience & Skills Graduate of an accredited nursing program Minimum 2 years ICU experience 1 year recent PCU experience 1 year recent Med-Surg experience Must be willing to float to PCU and Med-Surg Licensure & Certifications Active Nebraska or Multistate RN license BLS (AHA/ARC) ACLS (AHA/ARC) PALS (AHA) Schedule 12-hour shifts: 1845–0715 or 0645–1915 One of two ICU RNs on shift Floating PCU Med-Surg (expected when ICU census is low) Nurse-to-Patient Ratios ICU: 1:2 PCU: 1:4 Med-Surg: 1:5 Dress Code Pewter Grey or Light Turquoise scrubs Orientation 4-hour general traveler orientation (non-billable) Shadow floor RN remainder of first shift 1 additional orientation shift, then independent Additional Information New facility (open ~2 years) with a collaborative work environment Client may call off up to 48 hours per 13 weeks Guaranteed hours do not apply during orientation Local candidates not accepted (50-mile radius restriction) Submission Checklist 2 years ICU experience 1 year recent PCU experience (willing to float) 1 year recent Med-Surg experience (willing to float) Active NE or compact RN license BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA/ARC) Disclose any requested time off Confirm candidate is not local (within 50 miles) EPIC experience (preferred)
