Medical Lab Technician​/Medical Lab Scientist - MLT​/MLS

Description

The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) performs analysis of blood, urine, stool, and body fluids. They evaluate reports based on clinical and analytical conditions and maintain the quality of laboratory testing.

Part time

Rotating Shift

• Associate’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related discipline required.
• Registry or Certification by professional organization such as the ASCP or equivalent required.
• Continuation of employment is contingent on passing ASCP or equivalent within 18 months of hire.
• Ability to read, speak, and write English effectively.

• At least one year experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician with above average performance.

Casual, as needed

• Collect appropriate specimen samples as required.
• Ensure specimen identification is accurate when aliquoting specimens and resulting tests.
• Demonstrate competency in performance of analytical laboratory tests on blood, urine, and other body fluids or specimens according to laboratory
• Evaluate test results in light of the patient’s clinical condition and analytical testing conditions according to laboratory policy.
