GHSP, based in West Michigan, is a leading global supplier of mechanical and electromechanical systems to the automotive, transportation, and appliance industry. GHSP is currently hiring an Electronics Diagnostics Technician to join our Technical Engineering team in Grand Haven.
What You’ll DoAnalysis: Analyze failures of circuit boards from the SMT process, ICT failures, Functional Failures, and warranty returns. Work with the corresponding teams to help troubleshoot and diagnose issue with processes or test equipment to help continuously improve or manufacturing and test procedures.
Data Collection: Help maintain the Diag database to help track and monitor ongoing issues with product. Work with the team to utilize this data to improve processes and identify issues.
Support Prototype and Development
Activities:
Help build and repair specialized boards for the test group. Help place and replace trial components on boards to test out theories, working with warranty to perform AB swaps on components.
Analyze Assembly Discrepancies: Utilize customer drawing, schematics, BOMs to help identify incorrect components or failures on boards. Working with the production team to verify components both in and out of circuit along with carefully removing suspect parts for further evaluation.

RequirementsWhat You’ll Bring
Associates:
Engineering General or equivalent required.
1-3+ years:
Formal education or work experience with electrical circuits and solder repair.
IPC certification a bonus.
Necessary
Skills:
- Soldering
- Using a DMM and O-scope
- Solder pot rework
- Vision systems to take pictures
