Cost Accountant - Grand Haven Area

Salary Range: $70,000 - $104,000 depending on experience

• Develop and maintain standard costs for raw materials, labor, and overhead.
• Analyze production costs, variances, and trends to identify areas for improvement.
• Manage and reconcile inventory valuation, including work-in-process and finished goods.
• Prepare detailed cost reports and analyses for management decision-making.
• Participate in the month-end close process, focusing on cost of goods sold and inventory accounts.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic cost forecasts.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities and process efficiencies.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated experience with standard costing, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Experience with SAP CO/PP modules or similar advanced manufacturing ERP systems.
• Certification or experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and analysis.
• Advanced Excel skills, including VBA for complex financial modeling and automation.
