- Perform highway, roadway, and structure maintenance, including operating heavy equipment to support maintenance duties such as snow and ice control/removal.
- Install, repair, and maintain highway signs and guardrails; operate power tools and other equipment to complete maintenance tasks.
- Keep roadways clear of hazards, including litter, waste, debris, garbage, and carcasses.
- Perform building and grounds maintenance, routine roadway and radio system equipment maintenance, and minor preventive and repair maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
- Maintain necessary paperwork (time records, activity reporting, daily diary, road reports, etc.).
- Receive training and perform construction project duties under close supervision.
- Promote a safe working environment for yourself, coworkers, and others.
- Equipment Operator II:
Valid North Dakota Class A driver license without air brake restrictions and a cargo tank endorsement (N) by first day of work; two years of relevant experience or one year of experience and one winter operations season. - Equipment Operator I:
Valid North Dakota Class B driver license without air brake restrictions. - If a suitable candidate is not available, consideration may be given to an Equipment Operator in Training with a valid ND Class A permit (no air brakes) and cargo tank endorsement by first day; 12 months to obtain ND Class A license and cargo-tank endorsement.
- Must be willing to report to work within 30 minutes, after hours, on weekends, and on holidays during emergencies.
- Employment contingent on satisfactory interview process and required drug test, medical screening, reference check, driver record check, and federal clearinghouse query screening.
