Millwright​/Pipe Laborer

Position: Millwright / Pipe Laborer
POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for installation of interior and exterior ductile iron, stainless steel, and plastic piping and equipment systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB

* Prepare ground for installation of underground piping.

* Work with superintendent to layout piping systems and gather required materials.

* Cut and align piping for installation.

* Connect fused, glued, flanged and mechanical joint piping.

* Install process equipment including pumps, tanks, chemical skids, strainers, aeration systems, gates, and screens.

* Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.

* Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered.

* Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job.

* Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS (The training, education and/or experience necessary to fulfill the job)

* High School diploma/GED preferred

* 1+ years' construction industry experience preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

* Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear.

* Vision abilities (with correction) include close, distance, peripheral, depth, and the ability to adjust focus.

* Able to work in all weather conditions.

* The employee is frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands.

* The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hand and arms above their shoulders.

* Must be able to exert up to 10-20 lbs. constantly to move objects, 25-50 lbs. of force frequently, and 50-100 lbs. of force occasionally.
