- Assignments are based on work zones nearest to home site, but could vary.
- The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at any of our Upper Midwest locations.
- Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment.
- Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts.
- Perform your work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
- Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
- Conduct safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority.
- Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
- Assist senior mechanics in the completion of project work.
- Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- 4 years of relevant work experience.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Over 18 years of age.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
- Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical.
- Require regular lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing.
- Constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasionally sitting and balancing.
- Exposure to physical occupational risks such as cuts, burns, and toxic chemicals.
- Exposure to environmental elements including dirt, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
- Jobs performed both inside garage/shop and in outdoor, inclement weather conditions.
- Team players who care about everyone in the shop.
- Happy working independently and as part of a team.
