SUMMARY OF POSITION

Provides friendly and efficient service in a timely manner to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs and performance standards. Displays genuine hospitality while creating a memorable experience. Looks professional, shows sincerity with a positive, friendly attitude. Performs all duties to maximize guest satisfaction and the quality of the work environment as directed by the Manager on Duty.

POSITION ACTIVITIES AND TASKS

  • Arrives well‑groomed, in clean uniform, and practices good personal hygiene at all times.
  • Greets guests courteously and respectfully when seated.
  • Welcomes guests immediately upon seating with a non‑scripted greeting.
  • Uses menu knowledge to offer suggestions, answer questions, and anticipate guest needs.
  • Delivers hot food – checks completed orders for accuracy, appearance, and temperature, then delivers immediately.
  • Delivers Perkins Service – shows a genuine desire to please, provides personality and specific suggestions, actively engages guests with concerns, and ensures each guest is 100% satisfied.
  • Maintains cleanliness of tables, station, pantry line area, and dining room common areas; completes assigned Perkins cleaning system duties.
  • Attends to additional guest needs or requests.
  • Maintains cleanliness of own station and pantry.
  • Performs side work during shift downtime, including but not limited to rolling silverware, restocking cleaning workstations, and bussing tables.
  • Executes the service cycle and team responsibilities at all times to ensure 100% guest satisfaction.
  • Communicates with Manager on Duty and coworkers about product/service deficiencies, equipment, and safety problems.
  • Informs General Manager and Manager on Duty of problems and proposes alternative solutions for consideration.
  • Processes orders, writes guest checks, and operates POS equipment per company policy.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and corrects system breakdowns to achieve maximum guest satisfaction.
  • Assists team members and maintains service stations, garnish line, service bar, and common restaurant areas.
  • Restocks service station with glasses, tea, ice, and plates.
  • Sorts, polishes, and rolls silverware.
  • Cleans mirrors and artifacts.
  • Runs food for all servers to ensure hot food is served hot.
  • Maintains cleanliness of dining room and pantry area.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS /ENVIRONMENT/WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Extensive standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to see at a distance (20 feet), at close range (12 inches), distinguish shapes and use peripheral vision to avoid hazards.
  • Must communicate clearly.
  • Exposure to heat, steam, smoke, and cold.
  • Reaching heights of approximately 6 feet and depths of 2½–3 feet.
  • Requires high mobility/flexibility within the provided space.
  • Time‑management skills required.
  • Requires reading, writing, and basic arithmetic.
  • Must use fingers to write, slice, chop, and operate equipment.
  • Must fit through openings 30” wide.
  • Must work irregular hours under heavy pressure/stress during busy times.
  • Bending, reaching, walking required.
  • Carrying trays weighing about 50 pounds for distances up to 30 feet.
  • Lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposure to dish and cleaning chemicals.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED

Receives direction and training from the Manager on Duty regarding specific procedures and assignments.
