Pay Range:
Dependent on level

RN I $30.65 - $45.98
RN II: $32.19 - $48.28
RN III: $33.80 - $50.69

Responsibilities
  • The Registered Nurse I provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the organization. The nurse maintains the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit. The nurse facilitates the coordination of patient care within the interdisciplinary care team and provides patient education to assure safe patient discharge.
  • Performs daily rounds on all patients ensuring quality customer service by coordinating and taking action on any requirements not met.
  • Develops a plan of care based on assessment that reflects the patient s physical, psychological, social, educational, developmental and rehabilitative needs based on patient s age, ethnic origin, economic status, lifestyle, creed or philosophical beliefs.
  • Provides education on cancer services within their scope of practice including side effects of chemotherapy/immunotherapy, treatment plans/care plans, self care, and medication management.
  • Assesses, intervenes, and reassesses the patient s self-report/symptoms of pain promptly and takes appropriate action according to standard operating procedure.
  • Identifies early warning signs of change in a patient s condition and responds appropriately to a deteriorating patient, including contacting responsible clinicians as indicated by SOP. Assists with emergency measures as needed.
  • Reports pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate multidisciplinary team member and records those observations accurately. Ensures that intervention or referrals are made promptly. Completes and submits all incident reports prior to the completion of each shift.
  • Establishes and maintains communication and utilizes educational opportunities with patients and other significant individuals.
  • Assigns or delegates, within the scope of practice, education and experience, the responsibility for performance of nursing interventions to other persons with necessary skills and competence.
  • Collaborates with other departments to validate/train staff on Port Cath use, chemotherapy/immunotherapy handling and administration, cytotoxic precautions, and educating staff on these processes.
  • Administers hazardous medication via IM/SQ/IV/PO/Intravesicular bladder instillations, and assists providers with procedures such as intrathecal shunt administration of medications.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

  • Registered Nurse | North Dakota Board of Nursing (NDBON) or Compact State Agreement | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources
  • Registered Nurse | Minnesota Board of Nursing | Within 6 Months of Start Date | HR Primary Sources
  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Before Start Date | HR Primary Sources
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System
Notes
  • Temporary RN license accepted prior to start.
  • Must hold an unencumbered nursing license prior to start.
