Residential Direct Care Associate III
- Adult
This is an ongoing temporary position with full-time to part-time hours available. Shifts may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Be part of the solution to the behavioral health crisis. As a team member for the ND Department of Health & Human Services, you will ensure the most vulnerable have access to a high-quality healthcare system in which prevention works, treatment is effective, and people recover.
Responsibilities- As a Direct Care Associate III working with adults in a residential setting, provide positive mentoring and guidance to individuals affected by behavioral health disorders. Serve as a role model with a positive and respectful approach in all interactions.
- Teach daily living activities, including household tasks, hygiene, effective communication, and socialization to help individuals increase independence.
- Assist individuals in articulating their goals and what is important to them. Teach self-advocacy and self-help strategies to support goal attainment.
- Foster a passion for teaching life skills and helping individuals overcome barriers they may face.
- High school diploma or GED; and two years of work experience providing direct care to special populations.
- Will consider filling this position at a reduced pay rate as a Direct Care Associate II (which requires a high school diploma or GED).
- Valid driver’s license and successful completion of the assigned defensive driving course during new-hire orientation.
