ND - Blood Bank Assistant

Job Location: Dak Minn Blood Bank, 3375 DeMers Avenue, Grand Forks, ND

Core Requirements: Candidates must have previous Blood Bank experience and travel experience. Epic experience is preferred.

• Promote the Dak Minn Blood Bank brand at blood drives and community events and perform donor recruitment activities to meet established recruitment goals.
• Maintain a working knowledge of donor suitability requirements to maximize safety and adequacy of the blood supply.
• Perform donor education, registration, and screening according to standard operating procedures.
• Collect whole blood and monitor donors during the collection process to ensure well‑being while minimizing adverse events.
• Provide post‑donation care and respond promptly to relieve symptoms in the event of an adverse reaction.
• Perform and document all activities per standard operating procedures.
• Perform and interpret quality assurance activities and equipment maintenance per SOP.
• Exercise initiative and judgment when investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving problems.
• Inform the next level of authority as necessary and document all actions taken.
• Create and maintain complete, accurate, and legible records per SOP and take appropriate actions for records/donations requiring follow‑up.
• Utilize available technologies to record and retrieve information and complete needed documentation.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
• Additional duties may be assigned to meet the needs of the work area.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Donor center experience is beneficial but not required.

Shift: Monday–Friday 06:30‑19:00, rare Saturday blood drive.
