Overview
Position focusing on securing external funding through proposal development, grant administration, and coordination with faculty, research administration, and supporting staff. This role involves assisting with external funding proposals, ensuring compliance, budgeting, and facilitating grant award setup.
Responsibilities- Partner with faculty and staff to develop compelling funding proposals
- Guide researchers through complex grant guidelines and requirements
- Create detailed budgets and justifications for research proposals
- Manage award setup processes to support smooth project launches
- Build relationships across campus as a liaison with research administration
- Maintain comprehensive tracking systems for departmental proposals
- Assist faculty and staff in preparing and submitting external funding proposals
- Contact funding agencies regarding programs, eligibility, and guidelines
- Assist staff with interpreting sponsor guidelines and create checklists/guides for PIs
- Aid in proposal development and clearance of proposals and budgets per policies and regulations
- Review applications for completeness and ensure adherence to policies before submission
- Become Novelution expert for CEM
- Review cost share requirements and verify compliance
- Verify subcontracts have appropriate documentation
- Assist PIs in generating letters of support per proposal guidelines
- Prepare files in proper format and upload to grants.gov/research.gov or other systems
- Act as budget advisor on grant proposal teams
- Coordinate with central research administration offices
- Work with technical editor to ensure resumes and current/pending support are up to date
- Maintain documentation of all concept papers, preproposals, and proposals
- Track cost share commitments
- Participate in Grant Award Setup: review proposal details, adjust parameters, verify budgets, and prepare setup documentation
- Utilize reporting tools to prepare project tracking information
- Lead meetings with stakeholders to ensure proper project setup and tracking
- Provide post-award support to initiate salary projections and payroll setup
- Strong communication skills (written and oral)
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational and prioritization abilities
- Ability to multi-task and manage complex administrative processes
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across institutional lines
- Ability to communicate with a diverse community of students, faculty, and staff with tact and diplomacy
- Associate's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
- Three years of accounting experience
- Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field
