The Med-Surg RN provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions and those recovering from surgical procedures. Working in a dynamic and fast‑paced hospital unit, the RN is responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education, while promoting safety, comfort, and recovery.
Location: Hospital – Med‑Surg
Key Responsibilities- Perform ongoing assessments of patient condition, including vital signs, physical exams, and medical history.
- Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
- Monitor patient progress, recognize and report changes in condition, and intervene as necessary.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care, wound care, and support with mobility and activities of daily living.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and self‑care techniques.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Participate in patient rounds, interdisciplinary care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to infection control protocols, hospital policies, and nursing standards of practice.
- Support new staff and mentor nursing students as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Must have at least 2 years of Med‑Surg experience.
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Strong clinical judgment, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with electronic medical records and bedside technology.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.
Type: Full‑time contract employment 13‑14 weeks with possibility to extend.
