Position: Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Med-Surg)

The Med-Surg RN provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions and those recovering from surgical procedures. Working in a dynamic and fast‑paced hospital unit, the RN is responsible for patient assessment, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education, while promoting safety, comfort, and recovery.

Location: Hospital – Med‑Surg

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ongoing assessments of patient condition, including vital signs, physical exams, and medical history.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribed.
  • Monitor patient progress, recognize and report changes in condition, and intervene as necessary.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide pre‑ and post‑operative care, wound care, and support with mobility and activities of daily living.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, discharge instructions, and self‑care techniques.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate in patient rounds, interdisciplinary care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols, hospital policies, and nursing standards of practice.
  • Support new staff and mentor nursing students as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Must have at least 2 years of Med‑Surg experience.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient with electronic medical records and bedside technology.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑focused environment.

Type: Full‑time contract employment 13‑14 weeks with possibility to extend.
