Registered Nurse – Operating Room (Day Shift)

Full Time, 40 hours per week, 9:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. on weekdays with rotating weekends and holidays. Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000.

Location:

Grand Blanc, Michigan, Henry Ford Health Genesys Hospital.

General Summary

• Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
• Demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, customer‑service orientation, process focus, and cost‑consciousness in planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
• Respect patients’ rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs, and provide patient education.
• Collaborate with patients, families, staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans.
• Perform assessment, medication reconciliation, and nursing documentation (NIC, NOC) on an ongoing basis.
• Administer therapeutic regimens, basic procedures (dressing change, catheterization, NG tube, suctioning), and support patients during invasive procedures.
• Maintain peripheral IV therapy, obtain body‑fluid specimens, monitor vital signs and pain, and respond to acute changes in respiratory, neurologic, cardiac, and urinary status.
• Participate in emergency response (CPR, emergency equipment checks) and use SBAR for physician communication.
• Support quality‑improvement initiatives and contribute to a safe, cost‑effective, and culturally competent care environment.
• Lead and mentor staff, communicate expectations, resolve conflicts, and maintain a positive work environment.

Education & Experience Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
• Certified BLS Provider (or Instructor) from the AHA within 90 days of hire.
• Graduate of an approved RN nursing program.
• Three to nine months of on‑the‑job experience desirable for effective application of unit policies and procedures.
