• Provide full range of nursing services using independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process.
• Demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, customer‑service orientation, focus on process and outcomes, and cost‑consciousness, following the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care.
• Deliver patient care that respects rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs; assess and plan for patient/family education and apply pharmacologic and non‑pharmacologic pain relief.
• Collaborate with patients, families, staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans and prepare patients for continued care.
• Perform risk assessment for falls, skin breakdown, VTE, aspiration; complete medication reconciliation; initiate appropriate interventions such as the SKINN Bundle and Fall Prevention Plan.
• Document nursing interventions (NIC) and outcome expectations (NOC); educate patients on treatment plans, safety measures, and discharge instructions; coordinate referrals with case managers.
• Administer therapeutic regimens: basic nursing procedures (dressing change, catheterization, NG tube insertion, suctioning), peripheral IV therapy, blood specimen collection, blood glucose monitoring, and medication administration following established policies.
• Prepare patients for surgery or invasive procedures per guidelines, assist with procedures, and operate nursing equipment safely.
• Monitor physiologic parameters, recognize acute changes in respiratory, neurologic, cardiac, and urinary status, and respond with appropriate interventions and SBAR communication to physicians.
• Lead emergency response by initiating CPR, assembling equipment, and providing immediate interventions; perform emergency equipment checks.
• Provide patient‑centered communication, maintain confidentiality, and resolve customer concerns promptly.
• Support quality improvement activities, participate in teaching/mentoring student nurses, and contribute to unit strategic goals.
• Maintain professional competency: keep current certifications, complete yearly safety education, and remain knowledgeable about new products, procedures, and best practices.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire or job transfer.
• Certified BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire or job transfer (or Certified Instructor).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
• Additional 3–9 months on‑the‑job experience required for onboarding and competency development.
