RN Registered Nurse – ICU/TCU Float Team (Full‑Time Days 7 am‑7:30 pm, every 3rd weekend)

Schedule: Full‑time days 7 am–7:30 pm, every 3rd weekend

Salary: $72,470.00–$ (annually)

Sign‑On Bonus: $10,000

Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients in the ICU/TCU Float Team.

Provide patient care that reflects respect for patient's rights, dignity, values, culture, preferences, and expressed needs. Collaborate with patients, families, hospital staff, and community agencies to develop discharge plans. Apply clinical practice guidelines, Nursing Problem Care Sets, and quality outcomes frameworks.

• Assess and initiate interventions to prevent/minimize patient skin breakdown.
• Perform and assist with basic nursing procedures: dressing change, catheterization, NG tube insertion, suctioning.
• Conduct admission assessment, shift assessment, and ongoing reassessment as required.
• Maintain peripheral IV therapy, administer IV medications, blood products, and therapeutic regimens.
• Monitor vital signs, lab work, fluid balance, glucose, and physiologic parameters; recognize and report meaningful changes.
• Implement and complete medical interventions as ordered; initiate standing orders appropriately.
• Provide patient education and nursing instruction using various techniques; document education activities.
• Support families in crisis and provide appropriate care coordination.
• Maintain accurate documentation per established guidelines; use SBAR for communication.
• Certify and manage emergency equipment, perform CPR, and respond to life‑threatening emergencies.
• Collaborate with case managers for discharge planning; review discharge instructions with patients.
• Monitor and manage patient safety, including restraints, universal precautions, and infection control.
• Promote cost‑effective use of supplies and resources.
• Assist in evaluating new products, procedures, and nursing practices.
• Support unit goals and participate in quality improvement and teaching activities.
• Provide leadership and direction to staff; communicate expectations, observe patient care, and resolve conflicts.

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed by the Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
• Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire (or Certified Instructor).
• Graduate of an approved professional RN nursing program.
• Minimum 3–9 months of on‑the‑job experience in ICU/TCU or float staffing environment (or equivalent).
• Ability to walk or stand continuously and lift/position patients.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teaching skills.
• Knowledge and application of clinical practice guidelines and seven domains of nursing practice.
