Full‑Time, Days, 7am‑7:30pm, every 3rd weekend, 72 hours per pay - Hospital:

- Use independent professional judgment, analytical skills, and the nursing process to provide a full range of delegated, interdependent, and independent nursing services to patients.
- Within the framework of the Seven Dimensions of Patient Care and Benner’s Domains of Nursing Practice, demonstrate clinical competence, compassion, customer service orientation, focus on process and outcomes, and cost‑consciousness when assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care.
- Conduct assessments for risk factors (fall, skin breakdown, VTE, aspiration), complete medication reconciliation, and initiate appropriate interventions as indicated (SkinN Bundle, Fall Prevention Plan, SCD, etc.).
- Document nursing interventions (NIC), progress toward outcomes (NOC), patient education, and evaluation every shift as required.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans, safety measures, medications, and self‑care; review discharge plans/instructions and ensure follow‑up is arranged.
- Administer therapeutic regimens, including medications, IVs, IV pumps, PCA pumps, epidural pumps, feeding pumps, and blood products, following established policies and procedures.
- Perform basic nursing procedures: dressing change, catheterization, NG tube insertion, suctioning, peripheral IV therapy, blood specimen collection, and capillary glucose monitoring.
- Monitor patient physiologic parameters (vital signs, lab work, I/O, blood glucose), recognize meaningful changes, intervene appropriately, and document interventions.
- Respond appropriately to acute changes in respiratory, neurologic, cardiac, and urinary status using SBAR or other standardized communication tools.
- Initiate first‑line emergency interventions, including CPR, emergency equipment checks, and timely notification of physicians or emergency response teams (SWAT).
- Provide patient and family support during crises and grief, ensuring a safe environment, appropriate restraints documentation, and universal precautions.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and other departments to coordinate patient care and discharge plans.
- Support unit quality monitoring, improvement activities, and financial stewardship through cost‑effective use of supplies and evaluation of new products or procedures.
- Provide leadership to team members, clarify expectations, observe care, and assist with patient care activities as needed.
- Maintain professional conduct, respect co‑workers, resolve conflicts privately, and promote a healthy work environment.
- Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing within 60 days of hire.
- Certified BLS Provider (Basic Life Support) credentialed within 90 days of hire, or certified BLS instructor.
- Graduate of an approved professional (RN) nursing program.
