Building Substitute Teacher

It is the purpose of this position to meet the general educational needs of students in grades K-8 when the assigned teacher is unavailable to provide instruction. When not assigned to a teaching position, duties would include, but not be limited to, paraprofessional and positive behavior support for students.

Minimum

Educational Requirements:

• 60 hours from a regionally accredited college or university
• Teaching certification OR Michigan Substitute Teacher Permit

Minimum General Requirements:

• Implement effective classroom management skills.
• Ability to organize and administer class lesson plans.
• Exemplify professionalism to students and staff.
• Establish effective relationships with students, staff, and the community.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• Knowledgeable of the growth and maturation patterns of the elementary and middle school student.
• Ability to speak and write effectively.
• Clearance of a criminal records check as required by the Board of Directors’ policy.
