We are seeking an experienced Traveling Field Mechanic to join our Equipment team. This candidate will be supporting our Diamond Grinding crew. While experience with diamond grinding equipment is
* not* required, a strong mechanical background and the ability to work independently in a field environment are essential. This role is based out of Granbury, TX, but will require
** full-time travel nationwide
** to support our crews across the country.
** Responsibilities
* ** Perform maintenance and repair work on company equipment, including heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers
* Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, and develop solutions to resolve them
* Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime
* Ensure that all equipment-related activities are carried out in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
* Manage relationships with vendors and equipment manufacturers, negotiating contracts and resolving any issues in a timely manner
* Develop and maintain equipment-related reports and metrics, and communicate equipment-related information to stakeholders
* Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements in equipment maintenance and repair
* Travel extensively (cross-country) with overnight stays
* Other duties as assigned
** Qualifications
* ** High school diploma or equivalent
* Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in a construction setting
* Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems
* Strong technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment issues
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences
* Experience using equipment maintenance or repair software preferred
* Willingness and ability to travel nationwide for extended periods
