Position Summary
Directs and guides members of management and hourly associates on proper customer service approaches and techniques by modeling excellent customer service. Example: tour to teach ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved within company guidelines and standards, building relationships with associates to provide feedback and answer questions or provide information to customers and associates.
What You'll Do- Drive and ensure the financial performance of the facility by confirming that budgeted sales, wages, and other expenses are achieved; assist the store manager in leading the management team in controlling expenses and wages to ensure expenses are indexed to sales.
- Create and implement plans to improve the financial performance of the facility, create budgets to align with business needs, and analyze economic trends and community needs for budget forecasting.
- Participate in community outreach programs and encourage and support associates as good members of the community by establishing and maintaining relationships with key individuals or groups in the community.
- Act as the representative for the company, presenting the company’s perspective to various external organizations, following the company’s media guidelines, and promoting company-sponsored programs, events, and sustainability efforts.
- Direct facility operations by setting high service standards, teaching and developing effective merchandise presentation, accurate and competitive pricing, proper signage, maintaining in‑stock and inventory levels, and requesting merchandise to meet community needs.
- Ensure quality assurance standards and oversee safety and operational reviews.
- Provide supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring associates, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, providing recognition, and delegating business objectives effectively.
- Drive execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs, developing and communicating business plans and priorities, removing barriers, providing resources, measuring progress, and adjusting performance accordingly.
- Promote a culture of belonging, respect individual differences, and support continuous learning and adaptability.
- Support Walmart’s mission, values, and ethics by training and providing direction on policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and upholding the Open Door Policy.
- Consult with business partners, managers, coworkers, or other key stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of plans, programs, and initiatives.
- Attract and retain the best talent, empower and develop talent, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.
- Deliver results while putting the customer first, apply the EDLP and EDLC business models, and make data‑based decisions that balance short‑ and long‑term priorities.
- Drive continuous improvements, adopt new technologies and skills, and support others through change.
