Supports FMCNA’s mission, vision, core values, and customer service philosophy. Adheres to the FMCNA Compliance Program and regulatory requirements. Functions as part of the hemodialysis health‑care team to provide safe and effective dialysis under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.
Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service- Lead FMCNA culture through values and customer service standards.
- Deliver outstanding customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Maintain effective relationships via timely communication.
- Resolve and follow up on customer service issues promptly.
- Provide direct patient care for assigned patients.
- Perform all technical aspects of dialysis procedures as prescribed.
- Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters.
- Report significant changes in patient condition or equipment problems.
- Educate patients and families on dialysis therapy, diet, and medications.
- Assist with emergency operational procedures and administer IV medication per orders.
- Perform pre‑, interim, and post‑treatment reviews and basic CPR when necessary.
- Operate all dialysis equipment safely and troubleshoot as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment.
- Address blood spills according to FMCNA Bloodborne Pathogen Control Policies.
- Operate emergency equipment per standard operation procedures.
- Participate in staff meetings and patient care plan meetings.
- Engage in in‑service classes to stay current on dialysis standards.
- Serve as a resource for other staff and coordinate care plans with physicians, dietitians, and social workers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desk and personal‑computer work, frequent patient interaction, heavy lifting of patients and equipment, prolonged standing, and occasional travel to regional meetings. Work environment characteristics typical of a healthcare facility with controlled temperature and moderate noise levels.
Education- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing (LPN or LVN).
- Current state licensure.
- One year medical‑surgical nursing experience preferred.
- Hemodialysis experience preferred but not required.
- ICU experience preferred but not required.
- Completion of a hemodialysis theory and practice training course.
- CPR certification.
- Completion of the Nurses Technical Training Program upon hire.
- Ability to provide coverage during short‑staffing.
- Pass the Ishihara Color Blindness test.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
